This song by the band City and Color reminds me very much of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. The lyrics fit in perfectly with Hamlet’s internal struggle throughout the play. His hatred for his uncle combats his love and respect for his mother, and his need to avenge his father’s death is exasperated by the overlying pressure of his role as prince and the expectations his father had for him.

“…see I’m no king, I wear no crown, but desperate times, seem over now, but still I weaken somehow, it tears me apart, it tears me apart…”.
